US poultry giant Tyson to expand production
US poultry giant, Tyson Foods Inc., has expanded its plants in Arkansas and Mississippi States, in its effort to increase value-added products and improve operating efficiencies.
The Arkansas plant expansion would increase its production capacity by almost 60 percent and boost plant employment by about 165 people, bringing the total workforce to over 600 employees.
Meanwhile, Tyson's other Arkansas plant has been scheduled to cease operations on October 1 this year. The plant, which has been producing about one million pounds of product each week, would be put up for sale.
