China's June soy imports down 31% on-year
China's soy imports reached 4.3 million tonnes in June, down 5.7% from the previous month and 30.65% from the same period of last year, according to the latest data from the General Administration of Customs.
In the first half, the country's soy imports totalled 23.71 million tonnes, down 8.1% on-year.
China is the largest soy importer in the world. It imported 54.8 million tonnes of soy in 2010, up 28.8% over 2009.
