Brazil First-Half Soy Complex Exports Rise 45.2% To $5.46 Billion
Brazil's first-half soy complex exports rose 45.2% from the same period last year to $5.46 billion from $3.75 billion, the Brazilian Oilseeds Association (Abiove) announced Friday evening.
First-half soybean exports totaled 10.76 million tonnes, up 3.3% on the 10.42 million tonnes of the same period in 2003. Export revenue rose 39.7% to $3.032 billion from $2.171 billion.
Soy meal exports rose 19.3% to 7.03 million tonnes from 5.89 million tones, and revenue climbed 62% to $1.737 billion from $1.072 billion.
In the case of soy oil, shipments rose 10.7% to 1.17 million tonnes from 1.06 million tonnes, and revenue climbed 35.1% to $690.54 million from $511.22 million.
