Vietnam's seafood exports increase 9.2%
In the first six months of this year, Vietnam has earned US$2.86 billion from seafood exports, 9.2% higher on-year, according the Ministry of Finance's General Department of Customs.
In June, the country earned US$524 million, down 4.7% from May, the agency said.
The US was the biggest importer of Vietnamese seafood, with US$559 million during Jan-June, up 16% on year, followed by the EU with US$555 million, down 13.9%.
Exports of Vietnamese seafood to Japan increased 33.4% to US$502 million, it said.
Vietnam targets to earn US$6.8 billion from seafood export this year compared to US$6.323 billion last year.
