Thai company launches food additives for shrimp processing industry
Aditya Birla Chemicals' Phosphate Division, formerly known as Thai Polyphosphate & Chemicals (TPC), has launched food phosphate additives for seafood processing.
The launch would enable Thailand to be self sufficient in key processing ingredients, a company statement said.
These additives acts as preservatives which improves texture & cooking yield and decreases freezing & dripping losses during cold storage. TPC manufactures these food additives in its plant located in Samrong near Bangkok.
Shrimp feed, meat products, and other foods are also among the company's product range. The company's products are sold in over 35 countries. Its food grade products conform to food industry standards such as FDA, Kosher and Halal Certificates.
Thailand aims to be a major shrimp exporting country once again after disease crippled the industry years ago and its status as the top shrimp exporter in the region was overtaken by Vietnam.
