Lysine market on weak trends in China
Lysine prices moved lower during the week ending July 9.
Hog prices were mostly stagnant while soymeal prices dipped further during the period in review, prompting buyers to be cautious with lysine purchases. Moreover, with pork demand expected to be slow during summer, feed millers and hog producers were reluctant to accumulate high lysine inventories.
Price quotes of 98.5-percent lysine dipped to RMB10.50-10.70/kg. Average transacted price reduced RMB0.15/kg to RMB10.63/kg.
Domestic demand for lysine will remain poor as hog prices are less likely to strengthen further during summer.
