Russia discontinues plans to augment grain output by 2020
Plans to increase grain yield to 125 million tonnes, envisaged in the original draft of the State Agricultural Development Programme for 2013-20, have been dropped by Russia.
The new version of the document stipulates a grain harvest of 115 million tonnes per year, up 46.7% from 85.2 million tonnes per average in 2006-10.
Russia's grain export potential is estimated at 30 million tonnes and intervention fund at 8.5 million tonnes.
