Russia's 05-06 grain exports up 36.5 percent

 

 

Russia exported 12 million tonnes of grain in the 2005-2006 (July-June) marketing year, which is 36.5 percent more than in the previous marketing year, according to the figures released by the national customs authority Monday (Jul 17). 

 

Wheat export in the 2005-2006 marketing year increased by 33.3 percent to 10.2 million tonnes. Russia harvested in 2005 78.1 million tonnes of grain in clean weight.

 

The agriculture ministry forecasts the 2006 harvest at between 70 million and 73 million tonnes, with export in the 2006-2007 marketing year at between 7 million and 8 million tonnes.
