China's meat production grow 5.5%

 

 

China produced 39.25 million tonnes of pork, beef, mutton and poultry in the first half of 2012, rising 5.5% against the previous year, according to China's National Bureau of Statistics.

 

Of the total output, 25.88 million tonnes was pork, up 5.9% on-year.

 

In the first half the country's live pig inventory reached 455.26 million, up 3.5% on-year. Meanwhile, it had 338.37 million live pigs on sale, up 5.6% on-year.
