Belarus plans to lift fish, seafood import quotas
                             


Belarus is going to abolish the quotas on the import of free and fresh-frozen fish and seafood, Alexander Likhachevsky, the director of the department for business affairs of the Economy Ministry of Belarus said on Wednesday (July 15).

 

Likhachevsky said the government has drafted a resolution on licensing the import of fish, seafood and processed fish products, adding that the document envisages lifting the restrictions on the import of fresh and fresh-frozen fish and also seafood except for processed products.

 

He said the recent session presided by the Prime Minister has taken a decision to abolish the licensing of processing and selling of fish and seafood by January 2012.
