Russia partially lifts ban on Kazakh meat imports
Russia has lifted the ban on meat imports from North Kazakhstan, Kustanai and Mangystau regions of Kazakhstan, according to the Kazakh Agriculture Ministry.
The ban remains in place for meat imports from the Akmola region, but the Kazakh ministry expects Russia to lift it soon.
There are 10 meat processing companies in Kazakhstan exporting meat to Russia, the ministry said.
In June 2010, Russia's agricultural regulator Rosselkhoznadzor suspended all certificates for the import of meat from Kazakhstan over an outbreak of the foot-and-mouth disease in the Akmola region.
