EU to inspect Ukraine pork, beef production process in October
The European Commission experts are coming to Ukraine in October this year to inspect the pork and beef production process, said Yury Melnik, the Ukrainian Agricultural Minister.
Melnik said that if results of the inspection are positive, Ukrainian meat will be admitted for eventual import into the EU.
According to the Ukrainian Information Agency, the minister stated that only those farms will be inspected that will apply for an export permit of their products to the EU.
The Ukrainian State Veterinary Medicine Committee chairman Peter Verbitsky said that the Veterinary Service of Ukraine intends to introduce a regular inspection of the farms potentially exporting products to EU.
