Russia's 2010 winter grain harvest more than last year
 

As of Monday (July 12), Russia harvested about 9.6 million tonnes of grains (up 80,000 tonnes compared to 2009) throughout 2.9 million hectares (up 214,300 hectares compared to 2009), according to official data from the Administration of the Federal subjects of Russia.
 
The average yield of grains totalled 33c/hectares this year, compared to 32.9c/hectare in 2009.
 
Winter wheat  harvest totalled 6.2 million tonnes, up 500,000 tonnes compared to 2009 throughout 1.9 million hectares, up 159,100 hectares compared to 2009. The average yield of winter wheat totalled 32.6c/hectares, compared to 32.2c/hectares in 2009.
 
Krasnodar Krai milled about 3.9 million tonnes of grains, up 700,000 tonnes compared to the same date of 2009 throughout 775.5 thousand hectares, up 88,900 hectares compared to the previous year. The average yield of grains totalled 50.2c/hectares as opposed to 46.5c/hectares in 2009.
 
Stavropol Krai milled 3.4 million tonnes of winter grains, up 500,000 tonnes compared to 2009 throughout one million hectares, up 73,000 compared to 2009. The average yield of winter grains total 33.3c/hectares, up 2.5c/hectares compared to the previous year level.
 
Rostov Oblast produced 1.4 million tonnes of grains, down 500,000 tonnes compared to 2009 throughout 415 thousand hectares, down 203,400 hectares compared to the previous year level. The average yield of grains totalled 32.5c/hectares as opposed to 29.5c/hectares in 2009.
 
The agricultural producers of the Volga Federal District harvested grains early due to droughts. Harvesting this year was early by seven to 10 days of the average annual terms.
 

The Russian Federation harvested 200 thousand tonnes of rapeseed, compared to 44.2 thousand tonnes on the same date of the previous year, throughout 100.1 thousand hectares, as opposed to 26.9 thousand hectares on the same date in 2009. The average yield of rapeseed totalled 20c/hectares as opposed to 16.4c/hectares on the same date in 2009.
