Ukraine's grain share in general commodity export volume shows decrease
The share of grain products in the general volumes of Ukraine's commodity exports decreased from 9.7% to 5.4%, compared to the reporting period of 2009, according to data of the State Statistics Committee of Ukraine.
During January-May 2010, commodity exports from Ukraine totalled US$18.77 billion, imports – US$20.87 billion, which formed the growth of export indices by 31.4%, and imports - by 25.9% compared to the first quarter of 2009.
Ukraine provided foreign trading contracts with partners from 200 countries of the world.
Export volumes to the CIS countries totalled 35.1% from the general export volumes, Asia - 27.8%, Europe - 25.8%, Africa - 6.8%, the US - 4.3%, Australia and Oceania - 0.1%.
The highest volumes of export supplies were provided to the Russian Federation – 24.9% from the general export volumes, Turkey - 6.6%, Italy - 4.6%, Belarus - 3.5%, Germany - 3.2%, Poland - 3.2% and India - 2.9%.
The import volumes from the CIS countries totalled 44.1% from the general export volumes, Europe - 32.9%, Asia - 15.2%, America - 5.1%, Africa - 2%, Australia and Oceania - 0.7%.
Ukraine received most import supplies from the Russian Federation - 37.1%, Germany - 7.3%, China - 6.9%, Poland - 4.1%, Belarus - 3.2%, the US - 2.9%, Italy - 2.2%.
In March 2010, commodity exports from Ukraine grew by 24.7% compared to March 2009, and totalled US$3.95 billion, imports grew by 20.5% and totalled US$4.74 billion.
