Brazil expects major beef exports to Arab countries

The Brazilian Beef Industry and Exporters Association (Abiec) expected that Brazilian beef would mainly be exported to Arab countries within the next two to three years.

Abiec said that the low level of fats in Brazilian beef pleased Arab consumers, thus accounting for increased shipments to the region.

Brazilian cattle have been fed on pasture and state of the art genetic technology was used. This meant that Arab importers bought a product that was 90 percent meat and 10 percent fat, according to Abiec.

The Brazilian government and other industry reports have also indicated the great potential of the Arab market.
