New Zealand's dairy sector to benefit from US, EU woes
Federated Farmers say that if a market for more imported products opens up, New Zealand dairy sector could benefit from woes in the US and Europe.
A drought in America is burning off crops that are relied on to feed stock, and dairy farmers in Europe have marched in protest at supermarket price wars.
A Federated Farmers Dairy Vice-chairperson, Kevin Robinson, says New Zealand dairy products could fill the gap if stocks become low in other parts of the world.
The group's dairy chairperson, Willy Leferink, says the global dairy price could rise if there is a shortage in America and Europe.
