New certificates for Brazilian fresh beef bound to Russia

The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture has issued a new certificate with watermark similarly used in bank notes for fresh beef destined for Russia which started this month.

This development comes at the heels of Russia's embargo of 10 Brazilian beef plants in May that were exporting beef from foot-and-mouth-disease areas with fake certificates.

Russia stated that it will resume exports once Brazil introduces sanitary certificates with a high level of protection from counterfeiting.
