China's frozen chicken export up 28.3 percent
 

 

China's frozen chicken export went up 28.3 percent to 28,083 tonnes while value climbed 51 percent to US$41.235 million from January to April this year compared to the same period last year, statistics from China's General Administration of Customs showed.

 

In April, 6,749 tonnes of frozen poultry valued at US$10.158 million were exported.

 

China's poultry exports have been recovering in recent years, rising from 72,843 tonnes in 2004 to 89,976 tonnes in 2005. Last year however, exports dropped to 53,291 tonnes. Poultry exports until May was 28,083 tonnes. In 2006, China earned US$67.9 million from poultry exports. 

 

According to the statistics, China suffered a 67.9 percent drop in poultry exports in 2004, when volumes fell from 223,000 tonnes in 2003 to 72,843 tonnes.
