China's soy exports up 28.1 percent for first four months of the year
China's soy export in January-April reached 210,000 tonnes valued at US$86.639 million, up 28.1 percent and 30.8 percent respectively compared to the same period last year, according to the General Administration of Customs.
China exported 40,000 tonnes of soy valued at US$16.655 million in April 2007.
China's soy exports have been fluctuating, rising from 330,000 tonnes in 2004 to 400,000 tonnes in 2005, with last year's exports at 380,000 tonnes. However, the value of soy exports last year, at US$145.89 million, was similar to levels in 2004, at US$144.77 million, despite increased volumes. Value of soy exports was US$169.58 million in 2005.
China's soymeal export in January-April reached 350,000 tonnes valued at US$219.718 million, down 12.7 percent and up 11.9 percent respectively on-year.
China exported 50,000 tonnes of soymeal valued at US$36.638 million in April 2007.
Soymeal exports rose from 800,000 tonnes in 2004 to 870,000 tonnes in 2005 but fell back to 800,000 tonnes in 2006.
Meanwhile, value of soymeal exports have been climbing steadily, from US$331 million in 2004 to US$388 million in 2005. The figure rose to US$405.5 million last year.
