China's cotton imports total 476,000 tonnes
The cotton imports of China last month reached 476,000 tonnes, up from 120,000 tonnes during the same period of last year, according to CNCotton reported Wednesday (July 11).
June imports fell 5.2% from May, the China National Cotton Reserves Corp.-owned website reported, citing data from the General Administration of Customs.
January-June cotton imports totalled 3.05 million tonnes, up 130% from 1.33 million tonnes during the same period a year earlier, it said.
China is the world's top cotton producer, consumer and importer.
