China's June soy imports reach 6.45 million tonnes
China imported an estimated 6.45 million tonnes of soy in June, the China National Grains and Oils Information Centre (CNGOIC) said.
The import level would set a new record for the oilseed, which has seen consistently large intake volumes this year that continue to weigh on soy prices.
Imports of soy are projected at five million tonnes in July, 4.5 million tonnes in August and four million tonnes in September, CNGOIC said in a statement Thursday (Jul 8).
China's General Administration of Customs releases official preliminary trade data for June on Saturday.
