China's high pork prices to come down in October
China's high pork prices would likely come down in October, China's Minsitry of Agriculture said Tuesday ( Jul 10).
Zhang Yanqiu from the Ministry of Agriculture said low pork prices in May and July last year discouraged farmers from raising pigs, resulting in a drop in sow numbers.
Zhang said current high prices may remain for the next few months but are expected to drop in October or by the end of this year, when new pigs enter the market.
