Victam International 2007 draws more participants
Press release
Held from May 8-10 in Utrecht, The Netherlands, Victam International 2007 attracted almost 5 percent more visitors than its 2004 edition, thanks to an increased response from eastern Europe, Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The number of visitors from the pet food and aquafeed sectors rose by a significant 60 percent and 54 percent respectively, while participants from the biomass sector doubled in number. This reflected considerable interest over the event's conferences that were organised for these sectors.
25 contestants vied for the Victam Innovation Award, indicating that Victam
International is a global stage where exhibitors choose to introduce new equipment and innovations to the industry.
An independent jury - without interference or influence from Victam - elected Geelen Counterflow winner. The combined effort of Imtech Food & Feed, Dinnissen b.v. and Saweco put them in the runner-up position, and Roca Systems won the third prize.
According to an independent visitor questionnaire, 40 percent of the visitors had final approval or buyer authority. Many nutritionists also visited the show.
Victam's organisers will use the visitor questionnaire and exhibitor questionnaire as a guideline for organising the show's next edition, Victam Asia 2008.
