India aims to boost agricultural growth rate above 4 percent
India would embark on a drive to improve agricultural production of its animal farms, fisheries and poultry, starting wth Andhra Pradesh.
The move follows prime minister Manmohan Singh's plan to raise the nation's agricultural growth rateto above 4 percent.
The agriculture department has already been tasked to prepare an action plan to raise the growth rate of agriculture in the state and it would be presented to the prime minister on his visit to Andhra Pradesh at the end of the month.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said the state government would make a comprehensive presentation to the Prime Minister.
