China feed commodities production to meet demand

Supply and demand of major feed commodities in China are likely to balance this year, the China Retailers Federation said.

Sharp increase in grain supply will help reduce the gap between production and demand, from 60 billion kilograms last year to 35 billion kilograms this year.

Thanks to market regulation and state policy, the grain crops' planting areas are estimated to reach 1.54 billion mu (102.67 million hectares), also an increase from last year. The total output of grains is expected to reach 480 billion kilograms this year under good climate conditions.

China's import quotas of grains have also been established for the year: wheat at 9.64 million tonnes, and corn at 7.20 million tonnes. Market regulation will keep the domestic market in balance.
