Pakistan To Try Raise Support Price Of Wheat Crop
Pakistan's Federal Minister for Food and Agriculture, Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind Friday said that the government would try to increase the support price of wheat crop before next sowing season.
Talking to newsmen at the seminar on role of media in promotion of agriculture jointly organized by Mir Khalilur Rehman Memorial Society (MKRMS) and Midas Public Relations at a local hotel, he said that the federal government had already increased the support price of paddy crop last month.
The prices of Basmati and Irri varieties of the paddy revised upwardly early June are- Basmati: Rs 479 per 40 kg and IRRI: Rs 222 per 40 kg.
Rind said that present government was giving a lot of importance to the agriculture sector that formed about one quarter of Pakistan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
