Russia's breeding centre to construct two large commercial pig units

The Ufa Breeding-Hybrid Centre started two large commercial pigs units construction in Russia's Blagovarsky region and began realising large investment project near Vostochnoe village.

The livestock breeding centre for large complexes of Bashkortostan is under construction here. LLC "Energogasstroy" should put the object into operation in 2013. It will run at full capacity in 2014.

The production volume of a new complex is 1,600 well-bred breeding sows, 35,000 pigs a year, including about 10,000 two-breed pigs and 25,000 commercial breed pigs a year, "Ufa Breeding-Hybrid Centre" explained.

Cost of the breeding centre erection makes RUB1.25 billion (US$38 million). The project realisation is supported also by the Government of Bashkortostan. RUB50 million (US$1.5 million) are allocated for creation of necessary engineering infrastructure. The rest funds are equity capital of the company's founders ("Eksima") and credit funds.

The second complex in the territory of the Dmitrievsky Village Soviet of Blagovarsky area is realised by the company "Razgulyai".

Here developers already mount structures of modern cattle-breeding buildings, the regional administration reports.

Its capacity will make 42,000 tonnes of pork on live weight basis a year. Three farms should be erected for 5,217 sows in Blagovarsky and Chishminsky regions. The project cost is estimated as RUB6.3 billion (US$192 million). The complex will achieve full rate of operation in 2021.
