China revises July soy imports estimate up to 4.28 million tonnes
China's Ministry of Commerce revised its estimate of soy imports in July upward to 4.28 million tonnes from 3.56 million tonnes, a report on the ministry's Web site said Thursday (July 9).
The ministry also lowered its import estimate for June to 4.23 million tonnes from an earlier projection of 4.34 million tonnes.
High soy imports in recent months have raised concerns among market participants that rising supplies will begin to pressure prices.
China imported 3.52 million tonnes of soy in May, up 1.2 percent on year.
