Kazakhstan to increase grain output by 15-20 percent

Kazakhstan could increase grain production by 15 to 20 percent in the current year, according to Vice-Minister of Agriculture, Arman Evniev.

Spring precipitation and optimum terms of spring sowing campaign could lead to a rather good harvest, the minister explained.

Sowing areas grown by over 1.5 million hectares, he said.

According to Evniev, the level of precipitations became equal to the average annual indices, but several regions still suffer from the shortage of moisture.
