China lowers anti-dumping taxes on chicken imports from US
China's Ministry of Commerce says that China will lower anti-dumping duties on US chicken products from Wednesday, Reuters reported.
As a result, China's anti-dumping taxes will lower to the range of 46.6% to 73.8% on imports from the US, against 105.4% previously. Anti-subsidy taxes will range from 4% to 4.2% on US chicken producers, compared to 30.3% previously.
The decision followed the re-examination by the ministry late last year after the World Trade Organisation ruled against Beijing, which ended a four-year trade dispute between two countries.
US exports of chicken to China have fallen 90% over the past four years, costing sellers an estimated US$1 billion.
