Vietnam's confectionery and grain exports up 14.5% on-year
Vietnam gained a combined amount of US$122.83 million from the export of confectionery and grain products in the first five months of 2010, said the Vietnam General Department of Customs.
The country has only exported US$26 million worth of the products in May, down 1.98% on-month, but still up by 16.11% on-year, the department added.
Among 21 importers of Vietnamese confectionery and grain products, Cambodia took the lead with total revenue of US$17.56 million, up 22.87% on-year.
Mainland China and Hong Kong followed with revenues of US$11.36 million and US$10.16 million, representing on-year rises of 39.26% and 15.63%, respectively.
Grain and confectionery exports to UAE grew strongest to 415.9% at US$8.5 million in the Jan-May period.
The department also added that other big traders, such as the US and Japan, imported US$8.97 million and US$8.43 million worth of confectionery and grain products, respectively, from Vietnam.
