Brazilian crushers buy 27.511 million tonnes of soybeans in February to May
Soybean crushers from Brazil bought 27.511 million tonnes of soybeans over February-May of its February 2007 to January 2008 industrial year, figures from the Brazilian Oilseeds Association (Abiove) issued July 5 (Thursday).
Net acquisitions (minus domestic and foreign sales and eventual losses) were estimated at 21.912 million tonnes and crushed 8.957 million tonnes.
Exports were of 2.853 million tonnes and domestic sales were 2.746 million tonnes.
Over the same period last year, soybean crush totalled 9.242 million tonnes and exports 7.056 million tonnes.
