Russia's meat imports up in Jan-May
Russia's meat imports rose 7.5% on-year to 429,200 tonnes in January–May, the Federal Customs Service said Wednesday (Jul 7).
In monetary terms, Russia's meat imports were up to US$1.36 billion in January–May from US$1.31 billion in the same period last year, the service said.
Russia has reduced quotas on poultry and pork imports this year, citing the increase of the domestic meat production. Meanwhile, beef imports have been increased at a discounted rate.
