Australian beef producers receive new guidelines
New guidelines by the Australian quarantine service mean that it will soon be easier to export beef from Australia to the EU. At the moment, exporting properties need accredited females to produce accredited offspring for the EU market.
The Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service will be relaxing that rule. Mike Norton, from the Cattle Council, says producers who have had to destock or agist cattle during the drought can now rebuild EU herds quickly.
