Philippines' Kabankalan City launches agriculture centres
Negros Occidental has recently unveiled the City Abattoir and Corn Post Harvest Processing and Training Center in Kabankalan City led by its mayor, Isidro Zayco.
The slaughterhouse and corn centre are both joint ventures between Kabankalan City and the Department of Agriculture through the National Agribusiness Corporation.
The centre is aimed to ensure a market for corn farmers' produce, to increase corn farm income, to ensure supply of premium quality corn grains and to reduce corn processing cost and losses.
Raw materials are expected from Kabankalan City, Cauayan, Himamaylan, Candoni and Ilog in Negros Occidental and Mabinay, Negros Oriental.
The centres target local traders in Kabankalan City and livestock raisers in Negros.
