China livestock trade deficit for Jan-May up 110%
China's trade deficit of livestock products was US$2 billion in the first five months, up 110% from a year earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture said in an online statement.
China's livestock exports rose 17.1% year-on-year to US$1.7 billion in the period, while imports were up 52.4% at US$3.7 billion, the statement said.
In the first four months, China's trade deficit of livestock products rose 89.5% to US$1.6 billion.
