Norway 1H seafood exports reach all time high
                              


The value of Norwegian seafood exports reached an all-time high in the first half of 2009, at NOK20.60 billion, NOK2.9 billion higher than the last record in 2008.

 

Salmon, herring, mackerel and salmon trout exports all rose significantly. Salmon exports increased by NOK2.4 billion or 29 percent to NOK10.7 billion.

 

In June, Norway exported seafood for NOK3.4 billion, NOK825 million or 32-percent higher than in the same month in 2008. The salmon exports in June increased by NOK665 million or 47 percent.

 

The largest importers of Norwegian salmon are France and Poland.

 

Salted cod exports dropped by NOK580 million or 65 percent to NOK334 million in the first six months of the year - the lowest level in over 20 years.
