Fiji consumers now prefer imported milk
People in Fiji are now buying imported milk over domestic milk due to the resurgence of the bacterial disease brucellosis.
The Fiji Times has interviewed managers at several supermarkets, which confirmed that consumers there are reluctant to buy local products.
The highly-contagious infection was detected in a cattle herd in the province of Tailevu on the main island of Viti Levu after a 10-year absence.
