Mad cow disease hits France for fourth time this year
BSE, or mad cow disease, has hit France for the fourth time this year following a recent case involving an 11-year-old cow, according to French veterinary authorities.
Belonging to a herd in the Indre region, the cow was born before the country's meat and bone meal ban came into effect.
Six other animals, all over 10 years old, were also culled as a safety precaution.
