Pfizer dairy vet operations names new vet for California and Arizona markets
The Pfizer Animal Health Dairy Veterinary Operations team has appointed John Lee, DVM to oversee the company's southern California and Arizona markets.
Based in Bakersfield, Calif., his responsibilities would include solving herd health issues and optimizing the profitability of dairy herds in southern California and Arizona.
Lee has 19 years of veterinary experience as a senior partner and clinician at the Atwater-Merced Veterinary Clinics, Inc., a dairy/small-animal practice in Merced, Calif.
In 2005, Lee also taught in the Western University College of Veterinary Medicine in Pomona, Calif., instructing veterinary students in food animal medicine and dairy production medicine.
Sam Barringer, DVM, Pfizer veterinary operations director, said the department is excited with the new addition, and remarked that Lee is recognized for his expertise in dairy production medicine, dairy records management and radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.
Not only has Lee given numerous presentations in venues throughout the United States and Mexico, he has also been the principal investigator for several FDA clinical trials, he added.
Lee earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the Oregon State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1986 and is active in the American Veterinary Medical Association and a number of other dairy associations.
