China may limit corn industrial processing this month
China may issue regulations this month limiting the proportion of corn output that can be used in industrial processing, an official with the country's economic planner said Thursday (Jul 5).
"The regulations will give direction to the country's corn processing industry, and could be issued in July," said a senior official with the National Development and Reform Commission, who declined to be named.
The regulations will set "overall scale controls" on corn processing capacity, such as limiting the amount of corn used in industrial processing to a certain percentage of total corn output, said the official, without elaborating.
