Spain fights back international competition in seafood
Promotion of seafood products and development of markets are crucial to the future of the Spanish seafood sector, especially in the face of international competition said Spanish Fisheries Minister Elena Espinosa.
Espinosa was speaking at the launch of a seafood marketing campaign which aims to impart to consumers the health benefits of horse mackerel, trevally and sardines.
The minister said such activities are slated to be held yearly.
About EUR 16.2 million (US$20 million) is slated for the campaign this year.
