FAO works with Bangladesh to strengthen corn and wheat research
The FAO has recently renewed its commitment with Bangladesh's government to strengthen farm-level research, with the aim of developing weather and cropping pattern-friendly varieties of corn and wheat.
Since 1983, the FAO has been working with the Bangladeshi government to develop and expand high yielding corn and wheat varieties in the country.
The government has welcomed FAO's initiatives amid increasing domestic demand for corn and wheat, as well as strong progress in domestic corn production over the last few years.
