Australia to boost protection against poultry diseases

A new set of guidelines currently being approved by the government will provide better protection against disease in flocks, according to the Australian chicken industry.

The "National Farm Biosecurity Manual for Chicken Growers" includes guidelines for action plans if there is an emergency animal disease outbreak.

Once the manual is approved, the Australian Chicken Meat Federation will distribute the information and run training workshops for growers.
