EU company recalls products over possible exceeded histamine level
North Coast Seafood has voluntarily removed its Fresh Tuna Steaks products from sale that were sold at supermarkets in New England, due to possible elevated levels of histamine.
According to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the recalled product was sold between June 20 and June 24 to retail stores throughout New England and was removed from sale on June 24.
Elevated levels of histamine may result in symptoms that generally appear within minutes to an hour after eating the affected fish.
