DuPont completes FDA requirements for herbicide-tolerant corn

DuPont & Co. completed the regulatory submissions to the Food and Drug Administration for corn seed that include its Optimum GAT herbicide-tolerant trait.

The US chemical company based in Wilmington, Delaware said it plans to complete its submission to the Environmental Protection Agency later this year.

DuPont said it is on track to launch the Optimum GAT trait in soybeans in 2009 and in corn in 2010.

Plants with the Optimum GAT trait show tolerance for herbicides containing glyphosate.
