Russia's May poultry output up 16.9% on-year

Russia produced 223,000 tonnes of poultry and poultry bi-products in May, 16.9% more than in May 2009, the federal statistics agency reported Thursday (July 1).

But as compared to April this year, which made a production of 231,000 tonnes of poultry and poultry bi-products, the country still has produced 3% less volume.

Without giving tonnages, the agency said that Russian poultry output in January-May was 18.6% more than in January-May 2009.
