Indian shrimp exporters expect US shrimp duties to be lifted soon

India's seafood exporters are optimistic the US Department of Commerce would soon reduce its anti-dumping duty on its shrimps.

Exporters are expecting the DoC to announce its final decision of the first administrative review of the anti-dumping case by the end of July.

With the sharp reduction achieved by another shrimp exporting nation, Ecuador and India's cogent arguments, exporters expect the DoC would be forced to lift shrimp duties.

Seventeen Indian seafood exporting companies had been imposed the Adverse Facts Available (AFA) duty at the rate of 82.30 per cent for failing to submit questionnaires for completion. Meanwhile, 130 exporters from India have submitted the Quantity and Value (Q&V) questionnaires for the second administrative review which is progressing currently.
