China's Hongrun exports crayfish to Belgium
Hongrun Frozen Food Company, located in Xinyang district in China's Henan province, has recently exported 44.4 tonnes of crayfish to Belgium.
Bred in natural water bodies in Xinyang and Zhumadian districts in Henan, this batch of exports were worth US$0.34 million. Hongrun's crayfish first entered the international markets last year with shipments to the US.
In April, the Chinese company received approval from EU regulatory bodies, which permits it to ship aquaculture products to EU member countries. Hongrun had since signed several export contracts with EU buyers. The company is expected to ship more than 1,800 tonnes of aquaculture products worth US$8 million to the EU and US this year.
