Belarus ups meat production 15.5 percent on-year in January-May

The slaughter of cows, pigs and poultry for meat production in Belarus in January-May totalled 475,900 tonnes, an increase of 12.8 percent on the year, the National Statistics Committee reported Wednesday (July 1).

Total meat production during the period, including category 1 sub-products, increased by 15.5 percent on the year to 220,344 tonnes.

Beef output increased by 24.6 percent on the year to 85,352 tonnes, pork output increased by 10.7 percent to 68,808 tonnes, and poultry output increased by 9.2 percent to 59,205 tonnes.
